How It Began

Since CLAN Gathering came into being in 1998 we have grown from an annual event attended by hundreds, to a ministry partnering with others throughout the year, and an annual summer gathering attended by thousands.

Many of you have been supporting CLAN from the days of its infancy, and some of you have come to know and encourage us as our ministry has developed. In all that we do, we know that it is your support that makes it possible.

A Missionary Movement

At CLAN Gathering 2010 there was a clear call to become part of the missionary movement that we believe God is raising up in Scotland. It seems that this call resonated in the hearts of many, and it is the call that lies at the heart of CLAN’s vision for the years ahead.

As we pursue this call, we will seek to develop and continue to:

• run and facilitate national events
• support like-minded churches and church leaders through events, retreats and training schools
• partner with missional organisations
• encourage new expressions of church and church-based initiatives
• invest in the next generation to see them discipled, equipped and encouraged

Our desire is to see the work of CLAN and our partners become an even greater blessing to our nation.

CLAN Emergency Appeal

During the Emergency Appeal, we have seen the regular and on-going support increase by £10,000 for 2012 and beyond. This year we are seeking to see this rise by a further £45,000 which when we include the offering at CLAN Gathering will allow us to balance our budget for 2012. Ideally we would love to be in a position where the regular and on-going support allowed us to use the offering for developmental rather than core costs. As we move forward this is one of the most significant ways that individuals and families can support the work of CLAN.
